Our Story

In October of 2010, while serving on a Spiritual Retreat, God spoke to Craig and Jennifer Kelley about planting a new relationally driven Church in the Auburn Community. This connected them with their friend Mike Bivins who had been praying about that very thing. Other couples came together to seek God’s will and guidance concerning planting a church in Auburn. This formed a core team that began the process of GCC.  As this core team prayed and discussed the Spiritual need, God began stirring hearts around the foothills.  Preview services were held in December and January of 2011 that solidified the need and desire. In March of 2011, the Kelley family moved from Birmingham Alabama to Auburn California to Pastor this church plant.  GCC, while still a new church, is witnessing a move of God as a community of faith, hope and love reaches out to the greater Auburn community.

Our Desire

GCC seeks to be a relationally driven church. Our heart is to follow the will of God and connect people in authentic relationships. We believe by living sacrificially as we love and serve others, God’s power is displayed and others are welcomed into a faith family that doesn’t focus on externals.

GCC is committed to honoring God's Word and loving God's people.  Our heart is in seeking to exhibit the glory of God in our lives.  We make no claim of perfection or superiority.  We simply believe that God is at work in our lives.  Empowered and transformed by the Holy Spirit, we seek to love others as Christ has loved us!

Our Strategy

By loving people with the love of God, we welcome each other into real, authentic relationships. As those relationships are centered on Christ, they move out into the community to shape health and connections.  GCC isn’t focused on butts and budgets. As a faith community, GCC seeks to foster an environment of Spiritual growth and healing.
